Carmen is passionate about promoting the field of laboratory medicine, especially among young and early career clinical laboratorians. She is also interested in encouraging laboratorians to be great communicators. As the field of medicine becomes more and more specialized, it is difficult for health care providers to keep up with the changing field of laboratory medicine. She feels it is our role as clinical laboratorians to guide health care providers in the appropriate use of laboratory tests and aid in the interpretation of laboratory results
