Mitchell G. Scott, PhD
Mitchell G. Scott is Professor of Pathology and Immunology in the Division of Laboratory Medicine, Department of Pathology and Immunology at Washington University, St. Louis, MO and co-Medical Director of Clinical Chemistry at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Dr. Scott is co-director of the clinical chemistry postdoctoral training program at Washington University and has helped train over 40 fellows and 70 residents in clinical chemistry. Dr. Scott received his Ph.D. in immunology from Washington University and is a diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Chemistry . He was a postdoctoral fellow in clinical chemistry at Washington University. A member of AACC since 1982, Dr. Scott has served AACC in a number of capacities including member of the Oak Ridge Committee, Program Coordinating Commission, Meetings Management Group, several Task Forces, chair of the Membership Committee, chair of the Division Management Group and most recently as Treasurer from 2001-2003. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Editors for Clinical Chemistry and reviews editor for the journal. He was also Secretary/Treasurer for the Commission on Accreditation in Clinical Chemistry and past-President of the American Board of Clinical Chemistry. His research interests have focused on antibody variable region expression to carbohydrate antigens and clinical trials for in vitro diagnostics. He has authored 81 original scientific papers and 29 reviews or textbook chapters.
