Student Travel Grants |
AACC encourages student participation in its annual meeting by awarding Student Travel Grants based on the students' accepted abstracts. AACC awards these grants on the basis of the student abstracts with the highest level of scientific value/content, originality/novelty, and quality of writing. |
The award consists of a waiver of the meeting registration fee, $250 nominal contribution towards expenses, and complimentary registration for a Morning Brown Bag session of choice. |

International Travel Grants |
International Travel Grants encourage those in underserved areas of the international clinical laboratory community to attend the AACC Annual Meeting and foster relationships between scientists of other countries and those in the United States. |
The award consists of a $1,000 to $2,500 travel award and free Annual Meeting registration. |

Student Research Awards |
AACC holds a research awards contest at the AACC Annual Meeting for students and post-doctoral fellows who are presenting authors of accepted abstracts. Prior to the Annual Meeting, the students' abstracts are judged, and the four individuals with the top four ranked abstracts are invited to compete in the Genzyme Student Oral Presentation Contest. Judges evaluate the oral presentations on scientific quality as well as the organization and quality of the presentation and accompanying slides.
The remaining students compete in the Genzyme Student Poster Contest in which judges evaluate each poster on scientific quality, clarity of display, and presentation style. |
Oral presentation awards consist of the following cash awards:
1st place $1000,
2nd place $300,
two $200 honorable mention awards.
Poster presentation awards consist of the following cash awards:
1st place $1000,
2nd place $300, two $100 honorable mention awards. |

Outstanding Scientific Achievements by a Young Investigator |
This award recognizes and encourages the professional development of a young investigator who has demonstrated exceptional scientific achievements early in his or her career. It is given based on the degree of originality exhibited in the individual's creative process and the significance of the research conducted. It is conferred upon an individual who has the potential to be an outstanding investigator of the future. |
The award consists of a plaque and a $5,000 cash award. |

George Grannis Award for Excellence in Research and Scientific Publication |
All current and past students in undergraduate, graduate, or postdoctoral clinical chemistry training programs who were enrolled sometime during the three-year period prior to the year of the award will be considered candidates for this award. The student must have published a paper indexed in Index Medicus during this same time period. Names of students from ComACC-accredited programs may be submitted by the program director. Names of students from non-ComACC-accredited programs may be submitted by their mentors. ComACC will make nominations to the NACB Awards Committee based on a review of published papers. The NACB Awards Committee will select the awardee based on the most outstanding published scientific paper. |
This award consists of a plaque and a honorarium. |

DACC Travel Award |
The AACC Division of Animal Clinical Chemistry (DACC) Executive and Award Committees have established a Travel Award in recognition of outstanding research in the area of animal clinical laboratory medicine for an abstract accepted and poster presented at the AACC annual meeting. The DACC Travel Award is for the presenter of the best abstract & poster presented by DACC members, associates or trainees (in academia or industry) in multispecies clinical pathology, in the area of Animal Clinical Laboratory Medicine that has been accepted and presented at the AACC Annual Meeting. Up to two posters & abstracts may be selected each year for this award based on merit and recommendation of the Abstract Review Committee. |
This award consists of a certificate of merit, $500 cash award and travel reimbursement up to $1000 |

Given in recognition of outstanding research in the areas of critical and point of care testing for abstract submitted and poster presented at the AACC annual meeting. This grant is targeted to clinical laboratorians who need limited research funds to explore new ideas in areas where funds are not normally available. |

The Young Investigator’s Award |
The TDM/T Division of the AACC sponsors an annual award designed to recognize young persons actively engaged in the laboratory practice of therapeutic drug monitoring or toxicology and contributing to the profession through research, publication, or teaching in these fields. The nominee must be a member of the TDM/T Division and must be 40 years of age or less, OR in the first ten years of their career after training (defined as completion of highest degree attained at time of application or completion of related fellowship). |
