NACB Takes Leadership Role in Association Evidence-Based Medicine Initiatives
In 2010, NACB will take a leadership role in AACC’s evidence-based medicine initiatives. The new Evidence-Based Laboratory Medicine Committee (EBLM) will integrate AACC and NACB efforts related to obtaining evidence-based assessments and promoting evidence-based research. Committee members will be NACB fellows and persons with appropriate expertise. The goals and activities of this committee will evolve over time, but one of its main roles is to assist with initial development of NACB Laboratory Medicine Practice Guidelines. By assisting with vetting topics and obtaining information through a literature search, the committee hopes to narrow the focus of new practice guidelines and streamline their production.
