Thank you for opening up this conversation. The software designers seem to have an inclination of wanting to create graphical views, dashboards, control panels, etc just because numeric data is in sight. There isn't restraint in examining if the data should be treated in that manner before designing the "feature". More voices are needed to raise the awareness that the laboratories are regulated in laboratory reports, both in format, and audit trail of content. The handing off of data to the electronic platforms needs to align with the regulations, with the inspected facilities receiving immediate benefit and the patients receiving the ultimate benefits of clear communications for their healthcare team.
