Gwen McMillin
Gwendolyn A McMillin, PhD, DABCC
, is Medical Director of Clinical Toxicology and Trace Elements at ARUP Laboratories, Inc in Salt Lake City, UT, and Assistant Professor of Pathology at the University of Utah. She also serves as co-Medical Director of Pharmacogenomics at ARUP. Dr McMillin received her PhD in pharmacology from the University of Utah, wherein research focused on mechanisms of anticonvulsant drug efficacy and toxicity. Following post-doctoral training in clinical chemistry at the University of Utah, she became certified by the American Board of Clinical Chemistry in Clinical Chemistry, and eligible for certification in Toxicological Chemistry. She has been a member of AACC since 1997, and has published 13 manuscripts, 3 chapters and 30 abstracts. Current areas of interest include application of tandem mass spectrometry to toxicology, clinical utility of cytochrome P450 genotyping, and otherwise improving clinically relevant drug and elemental analyses.
