CPOCT 22nd International Symposium Photos 

Critical and Point-of-Care Testing: 
Managing Technology for the Benefit of All Populations
September 17-20, 2008, Barcelona, Spain

The CPOCT Division held its 22nd international symposium in Barcelona Spain in September with 303 registrants, the largest ever.  In addition to invited speakers, oral presentations of selected abstracts, and 77 posters, there was a session of vendor presentations and various social activities.

Winners of the two best abstract awards were:

  • Christoph Becker, MD, Munich, Germany for “Evaluation of a handheld-creatinine measurement device for real-time bedside determination of whole blood creatinine in radiology.”
  • Stephen Lee, PhD, Bethlehem, PA for “Evaluation of a rapid point-of-care test device for hepatitis C virus infection using blood and oral fluid.”
