Washington, DC, August 6, 2010 The American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) announces its 12th Annual Laboratory Automation conference, Laboratory Automation and the Electronic Medical Record: Driving Quality and Information in a Wired Healthcare World, to be held October 14 -15, 2010, in St. Louis, MO, at the Hilton St Louis Ballpark Hotel.
When the concept of laboratory automation first emerged, only the largest and best funded laboratories were able to implement the sole model available: total laboratory automation. Now as automation and workflow evaluation tools have become less expensive yet more sophisticated, automation is within the reach of most clinical laboratories.
However, now that automation is a fundamental part of the lab’s day-to-day operations, clinical laboratories all over the world are facing many of the same challenges: integrating lab processes into an increasingly IT-focused healthcare world, improving efficiency and quality, assuring patient safety, and managing cost constraints. Our expert panel will provide the answers to these issues during the 2-day program. The conference also features breakout sessions with the latest technology from the leading automation companies, as well as panel discussions on how laboratory automation and healthcare IT are enhancing the capabilities of the clinical laboratory.
This conference is a must attend event for journalists reporting on this increasingly important element of the clinical laboratory’s operations. AACC offers complimentary press registrations to interested reporters. To register for the event, complete and submit a Press Registration Form.
