AACC Announces Webinar on Maximizing Reimbursement Through Better Compliance

Washington, DC – May 13, 2010   The American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) announces a webinar on Maximizing your Reimbursement Through Better Compliance to be held Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 2:00pm (EST). The webinar will last 90 minutes.

In its fiscal year 2011 budget proposal, the Obama Administration is requesting a 20 percent increase in funding to recoup ‘inappropriate’ payments made to health care providers, including clinical laboratories. This move is consistent with bipartisan support for efforts that fight fraud and abuse in health care as a way to cut the federal deficit. In recent years investigators have scrutinized a number of laboratory billing practices, including reflex testing, customer discounts, and unbundling, among others. As federal auditors begin to expand their investigations, clinical laboratories must ensure that they have appropriate safeguards in place to demonstrate compliance with government directives. The experts for this webinar are Charles Root, PhD, Chief Executive Officer, CodeMap and Greg Root, JD, Chief Operating Officer, General Counsel, CodeMap. The webinar is moderated by Robert Murray, JD, PhD, Director, Technology, Midwest Diagnostic Pathology

AACC invites interested journalists to participate in this timely webinar and learn the latest on government anti-fraud and abuse activities. To register, complete, and submit a Press Registration Form. For more information about the webinar or AACC, contact Peter Patterson on either of the above phone numbers or at ppatterson@aacc.org
