Washington, DC – April 15, 2011 The American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) announces that, with three months to go until the Clinical Lab Expo opens at its 2011 Annual Meeting in the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, booth sales have already exceeded the planned budget. With some 590 companies taking over 1,900 booths, sales to date represent 106% of those at the same time last year, confirming AACC’s Clinical Lab Expo as the premier event of its kind in the world. Overall, AACC has seen a net increase of over 260 booths in 2011 compared to 2010.
The 2011 Clinical Lab Expo is seeing another strong presence by companies exhibiting for the first time or returning to the Expo after a break (some 20% of the exhibiting companies), reinforcing its position as the venue of choice to launch new technologies and products. The 2011 Clinical Lab Expo also continues to have a major international presence with almost 33% of exhibiting companies coming from 26 countries outside the United States and accounting for some 20% of booth sales. The Clinical Lab Expo, which is an opportunity to see the latest in laboratory medicine under one roof, opens on July 26 at 9:30am.
Anthony Killeen, MD, PhD, Chair of the 2011 Annual Meeting Organizing Committee commented, “The number of companies exhibiting for the first time at the Clinical Lab Expo, as well as another strong international presence, reinforces the Expo’s position as the premier, must-attend event in the world for companies, organizations and professionals working in the field of laboratory medicine.”
