AACC Announces 'Professional Practice in Clinical Chemistry' Course

Washington, DC, February 16, 2011      The American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) presents its biennial course Professional Practice in Clinical Chemistry: A Review and Update to be held May 1 - 5, 2011, at the Holiday Inn at the Bay, San Diego, CA.

Supported by AACC’s National Academy of Clinical Biochemistry (NACB), this successful course has been offered since the early 1990s and this year’s comprehensive 4½ day event features an expert faculty of 25 speakers who will address topics affecting today’s core laboratories including therapeutic drug management, endocrinology, maternal-fetal medicine, management issues and more.  Specific objectives to be covered include reviewing basic clinical and analytic principles, evaluating and interpreting common laboratory tests, reviewing state-of-the-art technologies, and presenting information on appropriate tests to most effectively diagnose illness and treat patients. A detailed program for the conference is available here

The course is an opportunity to hear from experts in their respective fields. AACC invites journalists reporting on clinical medicine to register for the course. For a complimentary press registration, complete and return a Press Registration Form. For more information about the course or AACC, contact Peter Patterson on either of the above phone numbers or at ppatterson@aacc.org.
