Members of the media are invited and encouraged to attend American Association for Clinical Chemistry’s (AACC) Annual Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo. They will be expected to produce appropriate press credentials and identification, including a sample of their publication if the publication is not familiar to AACC’s staff. AACC reserves the right to deny access to those who, in AACC’s sole discretion, cannot present appropriate credentials.
Qualifications for Media Registration
Only salaried editorial staff of recognized newspapers, magazines, newsletters or broadcast or electronic media will be registered as “Press”. Members of editorial boards, publishers, contributors, and contributing editors are not considered salaried staff. Advertising, sales or marketing representatives will not be registered as press. Freelance writers must be professional journalists and provide a letter of representation from a recognized publication or broadcast organization on letterhead to secure press credentials.
Those reporters that represent blogs and other types of social media will need to obtain approval prior to the conference.
Limitations & Conditions
Complimentary Media Registration for AACC's Annual Meeting will be limited to three individuals from any one publication or publication group. Publications or groups wishing to send additional editorial staff must either pay registration fees or obtain approval for the additional press registrations from the AACC Director of Professional Affairs, either prior to the meeting or on site.
Media representatives with AACC press credentials may attend all educational events at the Annual Meeting with the following limits:
- They will have complimentary access to the exhibits, plenary sessions, symposia and poster sessions.
- Interactive Workshops are open to Press depending upon space availability. If a workshop is sold out, Press cannot attend. They can arrange interviews with the session faculty by going to the newsroom. If seats are available at the scheduled start time, media may receive complimentary tickets from on-site registration. Or, they can purchase a ticket, beginning the Saturday prior to the meeting, from on-site registration. No Press is allowed in Workshops, Short Courses and Brown Bag Sessions without a ticket.
- All “Meet the Expert Sessions” are closed to the Press. Press registrants are welcome to visit AACC’s onsite Press Room to request interviews with the “Experts”.
Any representative with a press badge who sells, markets or represents a company for the purpose of obtaining advertising or subscriptions from any exhibitor or registrant will immediately forfeit media credentials for that and subsequent meetings. No surveys, advertising or other materials may be distributed during a meeting without prior approval from the Director of Meetings.
