COURSE INFORMATION |

|
This course provides information on how to structure procedures in a point-of-care testing program and explains how they relate to the policies and processes set out by the laboratory that governs those procedures. Policies, processes, and procedures provide formal evidence that the POCT program has competent oversight of all administrative and operational systems to ensure consistent, safe, and quality patient testing.

COURSE OBJECTIVES |

The learner will be able to:
- Identify applicable accrediting agencies that have standards pertaining to policy & procedure writing
- List the components of a test procedure using CLIA 42 CFR Part 493 as a guide.
- Describe the elements of a document control program
- Support the benefits of procedure standardization
