COURSE INFORMATION |
|
|
To administer a successful POCT program, the point-of-care specialist must be able to align point-of-care efforts with goals of the healthcare organization. This requires skills in strategic planning, goal setting, supervision, budgeting, and systems design. This course will describe how to leverage your organizational and leadership skills for POC administration.

- Laboratory safety
- Resources needed for an effective POCT program
- Goal setting

COURSE OBJECTIVES |

The learner will be able to:
- Discuss ways in which POCT aligns with and supports goals of quality patient care in the overall healthcare environment
- Identify the key leadership roles of the POC specialist
- Explain the POC Specialist’s role in promoting laboratory safety
- Explain the POC Specialist’s role in influencing capital budget and billing
- Set goals for POCT that support the strategic objectives of the organization
