This presentation gives an overview of patient safety issues related to laboratory testing and addresses how any laboratory can perform quality improvement projects to reduce patient harm related to errors in laboratory testing. Special consideration is given to methods for obtaining patient outcomes and methods for developing a culture of patient safety.
