Robin A Felder, PhD

Dr. Felder is Associate Director of Clinical Chemistry and Toxicology, Director of the Medical Automation Research Center, and Professor of Pathology at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va., as well as a Visiting Professor of Pathology at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine (Baltimore, Md.). His affiliation with professional organizations include Past President of the Association for Laboratory Automation and Editor of its journal, Fellow of the Council for High Blood Pressure Research (a council of the American Heart Association), and the American Association for Clinical Biochemists.

Dr. Felder received his PhD in Biochemistry at Georgetown University, and did his postdoctoral work at the National Institutes of Health. He has published over 215 papers and has been awarded six patents.

In addition to his academic career, Dr. Felder has founded several private ventures spun out from the University of Virginia including Medical Automation Systems, BIOPHILE, Hypogen, Home Guardian, and Global Cell Solutions. Dr. Felder also serves on the scientific advisory boards of several medical technology companies including Genetic Diagnostics, Inc. (Toronto, Ontario), Guidance Interactive Technologies (Delano, Minn.), BSI Proteomics (Gaithersburg, Md.), and Cell Mechanics, Inc. (Alexandria, Va.).
