James T. Griffith, PhD
James T. Griffith, Ph.D., CLS(NCA), is Chancellor Professor and Chairperson, Department of Medical Laboratory Science, University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. He is the first CLS Faculty member to hold a "distinguished” rank in the history of the University of Massachusetts. In addition, Dr. Griffith is also a past president of the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science and the Clinical Laboratory Science Society of Central New England. His recent honors include being named the first-ever recipient of the Massachusetts Federation of Teachers’ Distinguished Service Award (1996) and the Massachusetts Legislature’s Public Employee of the Year (Higher Education, 1997), the University of Massachusetts’ Chancellor's Award (1999), the Robin H. Mendelson Award fdrom the ASCLS Education and Research Fund (2000), and the University of Massachusetts Alumni Association Award (2000).
