Chris Fetters is the President & Founder of Nextivity, the premier point of care consulting firm based in York, Pennsylvania. Chris comes from a clinical laboratory background at PinnacleHealth System in Harrisburg, PA. After moving into the LIS department at PinnacleHealth, he helped write the first HL7 interface from Sunquest to Cerner for the Central Pennsylvania Alliance of Laboratories(CPAL.) And, he installed one the first point of care data management systems in the country.

He has given presentations all over the U.S. and Europe on topics such as billing and reimbursement, quality improvement and data management. He served as the Vice President of the Connectivity Industry Consortium (CIC) which developed connectivity standards for point of care. When those standards were turned over to NCCLS, he joined the Subcommittee for Point of Care Connectivity as an Advisor.

Chris was the inventor and original webmaster of PointofCare.net and he continues to help start point of care professional groups around the country. He is the Vice-Chair of the Distance Learning committee for the AACC's Point of Care Testing Division and he has been featured in many articles from CAP Today, Clinical Laboratory Compliance Alert and ADVANCE magazines. He serves on the editorial board of the new journal, "Point-of-Care; The Journal of Near Patient Testing & Technology." Chris has just been nominated to the Chair of the AACC's Critical Care and Point of Care Testing Division for 2003.
