AACC holds a special student oral presentation contest at the AACC Annual Meeting for students and post-doctoral fellows who are presenting authors of accepted abstracts. Prior to the Annual Meeting, the student abstracts are judged, and the students with the top four ranked abstracts are invited to compete in the student oral presentation contest. Judges evaluate the oral presentations on scientific quality as well as organization and quality of the presentation and accompanying slides. Starting in 2007, these awards will be funded by a generous gift from Genzyme to the Van Slyke Foundation, which enables the prizes to be increased as follows: first prize: $1,000, second prize: $300, and two honorable mention prizes at $100 each.
